Happy Thanksgiving

Image
Had it not been for your law, I would have perished in my affliction. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever! Happy Happy Thanksgiving to my blog readers and followers. Psalm 119:92, Psalm 30:12b-NLT

Fall You Are Welcome!

Image
I was delighted to have my camera with me in order to capture the above photo. It was another one of those amazing demonstrations of fall beauty – leaves silently changing color – leaves silently drifting to the ground – leaves silently announcing the arrival of change. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? - Isaiah 43:19 (NLT)

The Greatest Invitation

Image
"C ome to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” 1 “Call to me, and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” 2 “Cast all your anxiety on me because I care for you.” 3                                                                                                                               ...

Forgiven?

Image
"There is enough water in the seas to cover the entire face of the earth with a mile and a half of water ... the average depth of the Pacific Ocean is 14,648 feet; of the Atlantic, 12,880 feet; of the Indian, 13,602 feet; and of the Arctic, 3,965 feet. " 1 Often, I visit the oceanfr ont for quiet and relaxing times. I am comforted as I look in wonder at another one of God's creations, which I captured on camera, and am reminded of the words of the Prophet Micah: "He will again have compassion upon us; He will subdue and tread underfoot our iniquities; You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea." 2 I am amazed that God would cast my ugly sins into such dazzling beauty!   Father, for your offer of forgiveness, words are inadequate to thank you.. Please look into my heart, and see the gratefulness written there. In Jesus name, Amen! 1. The Wonders Of Creation - Alfred M. Rehwinkel 2. Micah 7:19 (MSG) Photo - Ocean View - Va.

A Prayer For You

Image
I pray that you will be aware of God's Eternal love surrounding you today as you go about your daily activities. I pray that you will give all your worries and cares to Him, because He cares about what happens to you. I pray that you will not let your heart be troubled. I pray that the Lord will bless you and keep you; make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you; I pray that the Lord show you His favor, and give you peace. In Jesus name, Amen! Look Up

Image
My great nephew, Paris, who is now ten years old, has closely observed my bird watching habits. During our visits to the park and to the beach, his eyes and ears have become very keen in follow i ng our feathered friends . A few weeks ago, while attending a children's choir even t i n the park, he made an amazing discovery - a bird's nest! This nest was skillfully tucked in a tree just above where we had been standing in order to evade the scorching 8 5 ° summer heat. As a somewhat seasoned birder, I had missed this sighting, however, was able to capture it on camera. Why did I miss it? Simply because he had been looking up, and I had not. From this, I learned a very important lesson . When the 'heat' of life seems too much to bear ... stop for a moment ... look up. There, we may find that amazing demonstrations of God's presence are closer than we think! "I will lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from?" Psalm 121:1 (NI...

Changed

Image
When we see God as He really is, it will change the way we think, the things we do, and the way that we act. There are many examples in the Holy Scriptures about men and women who were changed in the presence of God. Today, I read about Abraham, who when he had an encounter with God, fell on his face before Him (Genesis 17:1-5), and stood after as a changed man. Father, today, as I stand in your presence and gaze into your face, please  change my thoughts, change my action s, and change my attitudes, in Jesus name, Amen.

The Tomb Is Empty

Image
The Tomb Is Empty!   When they entered the tomb, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. Why do you seek the living One among the dead? 1 “I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore.” 2                     Happy Resurrection! 1. Luke 24:5-6 (NAS) ; 2. Revelation 1:17-18 (NAS)

The Bible

Image
Patrick Henry : "The Bible is worth all other books which have ever been printed." 1 George Washington: " It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible." 2 Napoleon: "The Bible is no mere book, but a Living Creature, with a power that conquers all that oppose it." 3 Timothy: "All Scripture is inspired by God." 4 The Bible ... a great source of hope ... a great source of inspiration. Have you read it today? 1/2/3 - Halley's Bible Handbook 4. 11 Timothy 3:16a (10.01.2009)
