Not Sure?

Image
On one of our recent walks, this bird was spotted by the keen eyes of my nine year old great nephew Cairon. Never having seen one quite like it before, I again sought identification help among my bird watching experts: “Morph of an intermediate adult snow goose (from Crosley Guide),”   “looks like a hybrid goose,” “looks like a cross between a Canadian Goose and a White-fronted Goose or Snow Goose,”   and “no telling for sure,” were my responses. As a bird watcher, I may never be able to identify many of the birds I see, however, I have the ability through the expertise of Scripture to be sure in the identification of my Heavenly Father:  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. ~ Hebrews 13:8 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am!" ~ John 8:58 But you are always the same; you will live forever. ~ Psalm 102:27 "I am the LORD, and I do not change.” ~ Malachi 3:6a What do you say? ...

Differemt

Image
From the distance, it seemed like just another duck, but as it came closer, my waiting camera responded quickly. After searching F ield Guide to the Birds of North America , I could not positively identify it, so I sent an email to five of my expert bird watchers. All graciously identified – a male Ring-necked, including one who initially said, “looks like a Lesser Scaup.” The difference was a small detail … the ring on the beak. We are each different, but share one common identification detail: we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" by the Great Creator.  T hank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous--how well I know it. ~  Psalm 139:14  Mount Trashmore Park, Virginia Beach, Va. ,

Eyes Pealed

Image
They gave me just enough time to capture their beauty and then, flew into the evening sunset. Where to? Not sure, but will keep my eyes pealed. Our Heavenly Father too has eyes pealed – pealed on you, and on me … His most beautiful creation.   But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love ~ Psalm 33:18 (NIV) Photo: Hooded Merganser Taken at: Janaf Shopping Center, Norfolk, Va.

More Bird Beauty

Image
As my mother and I ate lunch at the park recently, these Brown Pelicans and Double-Crested Cormorant treated us to a display of their amazing beauty. A treat welcomed by my appetite and thanksgiving for the creation of the Great Creator. Then God said, "Let the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind." So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every sort of bird--each producing offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good . ~ Genesis 1:20-21

Bird Nest

Image
This bird nest was given to me by my friend Joyce who knows of my love for creation and its amazing Creator. She lives on a farm and the nest is made from twigs and hair from her horses. It amazes me to think that our   Heavenly Father gave such wisdom to birds. I trust that you enjoy these two intricate views as much as I enjoyed capturing them. I know every bird on the mountains, and all the animals of the field are mine~ Psalm 50:11 Kindly lift click three times for larger views.

Another Amazing Sunset

Image
Sunsets never cease to amaze me. This one  dazzled me as I exited Wal-Mart on Thursday evening. It lasted only about five minutes and seemed to allow me just enough time to capture and share it’s amazing beauty. Can you imagine the possibility of knowing the Creator that creates such extravagant splendor ? I join Job as he said: “I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes”. ~ Job 42:5 And what an amazing experience!

Seen

Seeing them through the wood, these Double-crested Cormorant and this Brown Pelican still captured my attention.   We too are seen by and always capture the attention of a loving Heavenly Father. The LORD's eyes are on those who fear him, on those who wait with hope for his mercy. ~ Psalm 33:18 Photo:  Mount Trashmore Park Kindly left click three times on photo for larger view
